2 headlines in the news today prompted me to facepalm myself into blogging about the absurdities of my country--the Philippines.
Headline 1 - Senator Accused of Murder Resurfaces after a Year of Hiding
We already have 2 senators involved in 2 seperate rebellions (Trillanes and Gringo) in office. Why not add a fugitive from justice (Lacson) to the list? There's also the son of a dictator (Bongbong) who might even be president someday. What next? Macoy replaces Rizal as the national hero?
Headline 2 - Philippines Begs China to Spare Drug Mules
Aren't there better things to do than begging China and begging heaven to spare these people? Come on. You're paid to bring a bag to another country and you don't even check what's inside? And the Credo fellow knew what he was doing. Even his family knew.
Real innocents die in the streets of Manila everyday and who gives a shit?
